Hi , I really need help on a simple question. Could someone please tell me, what functional groups are present in diazepam otherwise known as valium. Thank You!

You should have been able to look at the structure and see the functional groups.

The Carbonyl group (R2C=O) is a ketone. The N-R1R2R3 is an amine. The R1=N-R2 group is an imine and the R-Cl group is just a chloride. There is also an aromatic ring (Phenyl), but usually one doesn't usually think of them as a functional group.

Why all the interest in Valium?
