Size: 272.1 KBI have had this painting for a long time and I have no idea who painted it. It appears to be early to mid 1800's and the only signature or writing on the painting is KFA-3 on the back. Any help in finding out about this painting would be greatly appreciated. It's oil on canvas 3'X4'.

    Hi, will941st!

What I would suggest doing, is to use a bright light and see if you might be able to find the artist's signature anywhere on the painting itself.

Could the artist's signature possibly be obscured by the frame?

    Thanks!

I used a bright light and saw no signature, and the frame has been long gone so you can see all the borders clearly. I'm hoping that someone can recognize the style or something to give me a hint of the artist. I know it was purchased from a gallery as a "investment" originally.

    Hi again, will941st!

One thing that I've have found is that KFA is the name of an art gallery in Berlin, Germany.

I also saw that there is another Art Gallery here in the US with the same initials. I wish the painting had a signature on it, I would like to find out the date and the artist. It's a very good painting, very detailed and has nice even brush strokes. I will continue searching and hopefully come up with something. Thank you for you help so far.
