    Ragdoll cat
I just brought home a 4 year old ragdoll cat. I know that she is going to be scared, but she screams really loud whenever I walk in the room. Do you think I should take her to the vet and maybe have them give her some medicine to help calm her down? I have had cats all my life and have never had one act this way before.

Get down to cat level on your hands and knees, and then lie on the floor near her and not look at her but just talk quietly about all the fun the two of you will have and what a nice house she is living in and what great meals there will be -- just quietly be a cat whisperer. Do this every time with her and hope she will stop crying. That (eventually) works when I try to cozy up to ferals and strays outside.
