    Almost done, but not quite
I have 2 XP (Home version) PCs connected through a wireless router (2wire). Internet connection works fine, but when I try to share files and printer, it works only one way. I can ping between them (IP and name) and I have disabled firewalls. If I go to Windows Explorer, both can see each other on the Network Neighborhood, but only one accesses the other's files. What else can be happening?

Do you get an error message from the PC that cannot access the others files?Like access denied or something like that.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Yes, I get a message stating it's not possible to browse the network and that it may be a permissions issue, but I've tried all I could on my computer to make it accessible to the other PC.

I would try first of all to set up another administrators account on both pc's with identical names and passwords. Also you could try right clicking on My Network Places and click on map a network drive then choose a drive letter that's not in use and then type in the path \\pcname\sharename, the printer can be manually added the same way using the above syntax.
