    Apply for 2nd I765 while waiting for Green Card approval
    Hi!
    I just filed for a Green Card through my wife (US Citizen) and with the I-485 I included an I-765 for employment authorization. Since the employment authorization can take up to 90 days, I was wondering if it is true that I can bring the receipt I got from USCIS and go to a local office (here in NYC) and apply for another I765. According to what I heard, by doing this I could get an I-765 much faster. Please, let me know whether this is the case. Thanks!

    The USCIS local district offices have the discretionary authority to issue an EAD, but it is rarely granted. Typically only in the most dire financial situations. Best to check with a local immigration attorney familiar with that district office. Good luck.
