    We have a netgear wgr614v6 router and can not find the cd that came with it
    We have been doing everything to reinstall the router since we moved and misplaced the cd. We need help to reinstall or configure any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Most home-type routers require that no software be installed on your PC, though many come with software to simplify installation. Not only is it not necessary, I don't find it to be desirable.

    You can access the router using Internet Explorer or another router. According to your manual, the default IP address for the device is 192.168.1.1

    Open Internet explorer. On the address line enter http://192.168.1.1. I believe you will receive a challenge requesting a username and password. The default username is "admin", the default password is "password" (obviously without the quotation marks).
