    Parental Rights
I am pregnant and the father told me to have an abortion. I am not going to do that, so I was wondering if I could have him sign off on his parental rights now so he doesn't have to worry about being sued for child support. Also to protect me from having him change his mind just to be in my life to fight for visitation at a later date. Can I do that and what forms would I need to file in order to make that happen?

You can't agree to terminate parental rights unless there is an adoption pending (it's a rule of law in California and probably the practice just about everywhere else).

Take a look at the notice "Signing Over Rights" that's posted on the board for more details. This is probably the most frequently asked question on this forum.
