    Ameristar A/C unit wiring
I have an Ameristar Air conditioner unit in the back yard that has three wires that run to the unit in the top rear left hand corner if your looking from the top. The other conduit runs here as well. I was told that these wires are from the thermostat and that its not a difficult fix. My 100 lb. lab/pit mix ate them as well as my dish wires that were run across the back of the house. Is this a simple fix? What can I do?

Yes,, simple fix,, 1st pull the pups teeth out, lol
The wires are color coded,, cut out the chewed part and splice back together, example ,red to red,, yellow to yellow, blue to blue or what ever the colors are, and hope that the wires didn`t short together and blow the transformer

    Good luck

Wiring on A/C unit! [ 1 Answers ]

The plug on my A/C unit was not working, it has a built in surge protector that kept blowing. So like the average man thought I could fix that myself. So I cut off the surge protector/plug. I have a 15KBTU mini split unit and the data calls out for 14/3 wire to run 220V, 15 Amps to the condenser. This seems kind of light to me but this is what is called for. My run is going to be around 90'-100', should I use heavier wire, say 12/3? Thanks.
