Your vet should be able to tell you the proper nutrution for your german shepherd. Raw food may not be the proper diet. It will not offer a complete balanced meal, only protein. Dogs need more then just protein. They need grains and vegs.

The following link should get you on your way [URL="http://www.dogguide.net/raw-diet-basics.php"] you can also find recipes online by typing raw diets for dogs into a search engine. Some of the proteins you may want to consider are turkey, chicken, pork, beef, fish just about any meet will do. Also, your dog will need organ meat, for its high nutrient content- feed liver, kidney, hearts or even tongue as 10% of their diet. When you first start your dog on raw, introduce one protein source at a time. Feed chicken for a week, then beef for a week, and so on, to introduce these foods to your pet's system. This way you can easily detect a protein allergy. Once the food is introduced you should have no problem varying meat daily during normal weeks. You can also give your dog Raw bones (cooked ones splinter so they should be avoided) as part of his usual meal or as a between meals treat. In addition to raw proteins your dog will also need to include eggs, any vegetables you can get your dog to eat especially things like carrots and spinach, even if it's something you think your dog may not eat try it anyway, most fruits, yogurt, peanut butter, legumes like lentils and field peas (think split pea soup), some grains like barley, oatmeal and rice (especially brown or wild) are perfectly fine but avoid corn at all costs there is no nutritional value to be found in corn. As a side note if your dog isn't used to a raw diet you may want to start him slowly on it (could cause stomach upset) and you may even want to par cook his food or just mix it into some hot water (my dogs love it this way... I think it's the gravy). Let me know if this helps. Good luck
