As I've mentioned before, I am pretty active on a few social websites.

So I made friends with this one guy (Brandon 37 years old) online of course - nothing romantic, just a platonic friendship.

Well, I don't understand this guy's behavior. He had a fight with one of his buddies (Jeremy 42 years old) over the social site. One day, Jeremy had enough and just unfriended Brandon.

Brandon went crazy literally begging Jeremy to accept his friendship again, and to please forgive him if they've misunderstood each other. But Jeremy doesn't want anything to do with Brandon. At this point, I told Brandon to leave Jeremy alone because it doesn't look too good for him to chase around a friendship.

But, Brandon is currently going crazy posting and asking the audience why Jeremy this and why Jeremy that - he even makes videos and posts comments to everything that Jeremy posts over the interent that has nothing to do with Brandon. Jeremy posts something about global warming, and there is Brandon trying to refute Jeremy.

Recently, Jeremy posted that he feels like he's being stalked by Brandon, but I know that Brandon is not that kind of person, he's just someone who misses Jeremy to tears. In fact, both Jeremy and Brandon had been closse online buddies for several years where Jeremy had even sent Brandon money and gifts on occasion.

At this point, Brandon has made such a fool out of himself trying to get Jeremy to accept his friendship again. He even made a video of himself crying to Jeremy why won't he friend him.

So my question is what prompts this strange behavior? My other friends think that Brandon is just lonely, however, I'm beginning to think that perhaps Brandon could have a crush on Jeremy? I myself had had close online friends cool off their relationship with me, and I've never gone this crazy.

What are your thoughts? Also, is it possible for someone to fall in love over the net with the same sex, I know this sounds far fetched, but I just wonder why Brandon would react soooo weird! Last time I cried like that it was when my husband left me. :eek:

It all sounds pretty silly to me but hopefully this guy would let go and meet new friends.

These guys are in their late thirties, early forties. They shouldn't be having these middle school fights and problems by 'defriending' each other.


I don't know what prompts this kind of behavior but I know how to fix it:

Brandon is stalking Jeremy. It's not the old fashioned kind, but it's still stalking. Like a spurned lover, he'll beg and cajole and do anything in his power to get back in with the object of his interest. When that fails, he will begin to harass and annoy, posting untruths or arguing/fighting at every opportunity. One of my ex boyfriends from over twenty-five years ago does this very thing to me today.

Jeremy may have to block this guy if he hasn't already. If I were him, I'd drop the social networks. If this gets serious enough, (ie; Brandon posting lies, rumors, threats, etc.) he may have to resort to a restraining order.
