Divx Web Player stuck on Connecting.
    Hi,

As the title suggests when I try to play a video using divx on the internet (latest firefox), it no longer goes to buffering with a %. It just stays on 'Connecting... ' and doesn't change. Recently I've had problems with viruses so it could be to do with this, but I am not entirely sure what can be done as I've cleared out most if not all of them. Help would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Josh

Reinstall your divx or codec package. Make sure you have Firefox closed.
If you have any other browser, try playing in it, if it works, it means some problem with Firefox addon.
    Install it, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9170
    I hope this helps

Hi, thanks for your reply, I will try this after trying to play it in internet explorer, which incidentally doesn't seem to be loading any pages. I will come back with results.

Well, that's common problem, you can download security pack for IE (I don't remember exact number), it will resolve this problem.

You can try downloading safari. Believe me, video streaming is much faster in safari then Firefox. Though you will surely need to install player.

Thanks for your advice, the problem has been fixed as for some reason I had to reset my internet explorer settings (internet options, advanced, reset) and it fixed the playback in Firefox. I may get safari if the playback is better!

    Thanks again, Josh
