    Birth Control?
I have some questions about birth control so if some of you could please explain it to me id love it, thanks

    |-= if you are on birth control does that mean there is no chance to get pregnant?
    |-= how do you know where to get it?
    |-= is it safe to use health wise?
    |-= how do you know what kind to get ?
    |-= does it always stop you from getting pregnant if your having unprotected sex?
    |-= will it always work?
    |-= if the male does not "release" in you does that mean there is no chance of getting pregnant.

and if you would like to tell me anything else about it your comments are welcome.

    No contraception is 100% effective.
They say they are 99% effective as there can still be accidents, I know of a few people who have gotten pregnant using both condoms and the pill.

    |-= how do you know where to get it?
Simple forms of contraception like condoms are available at a pharmacy. The pill and other forms are available through your doctor.

    |-= is it safe to use health wise?
Condoms are the only contraception that will prevent you from getting STD's.
Other hormone based contraception has no protection against them.
Hormone based contraception however can have some side effects for some people.

    |-= how do you know what kind to get ?
This is something you need to discuss with your doctor.
Some pople have latex allergies so cannot use condoms, others can't handle the side effects of using the pill.

    |-= does it always stop you from getting pregnant if your having unprotected sex?
No contraception is 100% effective so while the risk is a lot lower, there is no guarantee.

    |-= will it always work?
    If used properly.
Condoms have to be used strivtly to the instructions on the box and the pill has to be taken at the same time every day, but once again, even if you do everything right it is not 100%

    |-= if the male does not "release" in you does that mean there is no chance of getting pregnant.
It can reduce the risk slighty but why chance it? It only take one sperm to fertilise an egg.

I hope that answers everything :)

Go talk with your Gynocologist. THey are the best people to sit down and explain options and what will work for you.

As was mentioned... the only form of birth control that is 100% effective is abstiance.

THere are different types of condoms and different materials... each having their pro's and con's.

THere are a multitude of different birth control pills and strengths of them.

Same with IUD's , there is no one size fits all.

You need the advice of a qualified medical practitioner and even then there will likely be adjustments to the type, strength and brand because not every one is right for everyone. THere is a very good reason these are not available over-the-counter.

    You are 15 YEARS OLD!

Moved from Adult Sexuality, because you are not an adult.

I suggest talking to your parents about birth control, personally.

    No need to edit.
Your answer was a good answer.

I just wanted to point out that we are giving advice to a minor on birth control (which is fine), but it didn't belong in Adult Sexuality.

I'd also recommend reading her other posts. I believe that her boyfriend is 19.

Yeah, her under 16, him an adult. Maybe he should rent Deliverance from the video store (you won't see that scene on the edited TV version). See what he might be in for if he gets caught. Assuming her parents don't get to him with the pruning shears first.

Oh no no no I'm very sorry no we are not having sex and I don't plan on it anytime soon its just I saw a B.C. commercial and I was curious. I apologize for putting this in adult sexuality but I was afraid to put it in teens or something because I would rather have more educated adults telling me this then other teens who might be more opinionated then factual. Sorry. And we are not having sex he knows that I'm not ready and all that
