    Illustrator menu access
    Hi
I am learning how to use Illustrator and following tutorials but found when putting these into action some of the areas in my drop down menus are pale grey so I cannot access them. Is there a way to create full access in Illustrator (and Photoshop)? I am using CS2.

    Thanks

As with most programs, specific commands are greyed out when that command is not available at that particular time. For instance, if you have nothing selected on your artboard, then “Deselect” would be greyed out because you can’t deselect something that’s not selected.

Familiarizing yourself with when specific commands are grey will give you some insight into the function of the tool or the mode that you’re using.
