    I've always done 32" - 36", I'm curious to see what a professional contractor says.

    Hi roy

    I agree with jmj. 32'' to 36''.

    U can cut a piece to fit tight between walls or wall and door /window trim. Adjust to your eye appeal.

    The height is relative to whether it is for show or functional.

    I usually install at 32'' when ceiling is 8' and 36'' when ceiling is 9' or higher.
