It can depend, if for example you have a drug problem and this is pain killers, the PO may believe you doctor shoped to find one who would give you medication you did not need.

I mean if this is blood pressure medication, or is this viagra, the PO should not even have a issue.

So it may have to go to the judge to prove the real need for medication

    Hello t:

Allowed in what sense? Your probation officer controls what goes into your body. Your doctor doesn't. I know, it shouldn't be that way...

But, if your PO doesn't like what your doctor is prescribing, he'll just throw you in jail and have one of those doctors prescribe something different...

I'm sure we're talking about PAIN medication here. Your PO isn't going to stop you from taking life sustaining drugs... He just wants to make sure you're not getting high.

I understand that but I have been on the same meds for 4 years, and my dr.told her I have to have them to lead a normal lifestyle, when I had my car accident a drunk driver hit me head on and It crushed both of my legs and broke my back. How can she say I don't need that much when my dr. told her I have to have it.I have steel pins, screws and plates in my legs and 9 surgerys on my back, with a stell rod in it also.

    Hello t:

Bummer. If push comes to shove, you're going to have to sustain on aspirin...

If that's not possible, you're going to have a fight on your hands that I don't think you can win. I certainly wouldn't fight it out WITHOUT a lawyer.

My uncle had to fight something like that. A car hit him and took his legs. He still has pain and sometimes even tremors from nerve damage. He was known to be a doper but took his meds just for his pain but po didn't believe him. We paid to get him a lawyer though and Judge ruled it was OK for him to take it...
