Extremely messy roommate is my landlord
I moved in last fall with a first-time homeowner (his dad paid his downpayment) into what I thought was a fixer-upper. But this guy has done no fixer-upping and is the messiest, most lethargic person I have ever had the misfortune to come across. He did not get firewood for the fireplace in the winter so not one fire and has not bought or borrowed a lawnmower since he moved in in August (it's a townhouse). He takes heavy psychotropic drugs and mostly plays Internet poker and playstation3 at age 37. Now he is threatening to evict me (I am fully paid up in rent/bills) for personality issues and I do want to move but his accusations are false. What can I do until I find a new place? I'm supposed to be in court on May 29. Thank you.

You can go to Court and defend yourself - the Judge is going to believe one of you and either order or not order eviction.

Why the "but"? There were plenty of reasons to get the hell out, even before the false accusations, so GET THE HELL OUT!!

Stay with a friend, stay at the Y, find a cheap extended-stay motel... The list goes on.

Thanks; I hope it won't come to that. I have a cat too. Started calling places today.
