How to get a dog to eat when it's hot?
Do dog's eat when they are hot and depressed? Cause my sister has a full blooded rott. And she seems like she don't want to eat anything but human food. She normally had human and dog food that she ate. But since the weather has changed I was woundering if she would change her eating habit.

We had a rott, and he went off his food when it was hot. He just ate when things cooled off, and he was fine.

My cockapoo only eats in the early morning when it is cool. But drinks lots of water on hot days. Also when it is hot out she like to chew on a ice cube, I try not to give her more than one a hour.

When it's really hot we make up ice packs for our dogs...
We get some zip lock bags and half fill them with water then lay them flat in the freezer.
Once frozen we pop them under a towel in their beds... great, cheap way to cool them down :)

My dogs go off their food when it's hot - and I don't want them eating heavy meals and then playing in the heat.

If the question is feeding human food vs dogfood that's for another thread.
