    Asset Acceptance Summons, Ohio
I received a summons from Asset Acceptance for a credit card from Discover back in 1997. I had been making payments on it (Asset - because they scared the crap out of me) from 2006-till May of 2008, when I was on maternity leave, and had no income. So unfortunately, that was a bill that had to be postponed.

I had contacted a rep (Jeff) in July when I was back at work, to set up payment arrangements again. Well, I had spoken with him twice, and then after that, I couldn't get in contact with him.

I left several messages, asked the receptionist to put me in contact with someone who could help, and she gave me back to him (Jeff). So I never received anything in the mail, no return phone call.

Then last month, I received a summons in the mail to appear in court. I sent a response back, and now I have a court date set for June. I don't know what to do. Should I contact Asset to see if I can set up payment arrangements, or should I follow through with the court date??

    Please HELP!!

    Hi, nkwitkowski!

Greetings and WELCOME to the site! I just moved your question that you had posted in Introductions to this forum topic area so that it will get the most exposure to those who are best able to answer it. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves and we try to not ask questions there.

I also did some editing to your post to make it more legible and understandable. I hope that you don't mind.

It can be a little confusing when first learning how to use this site! Your question will get noticed much more in this forum topic area.

We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions sometime to tell us a little about yourself though, if you would be willing to do that.

    Thanks!

Hello everyone. This seems like a very helpful place to be.

I am new to this site, however I have heard of Asset Acceptance. My sister in law just recently got a judgment, because she did not show up for anything.
They are a rotten JDB. The buy old debt and claim it is theirs. You can go on Bud Hibbs or do a Google. It is a bad company. Do not give them your bank account number or any personal paperwork. You will regret it. Answer the summons and Just make sure you show up. If not they will get an automatic judgment.
