    Dishonesty within my bank
Chase has changed their story more times than I can count. Monthly I deposit two checks from a company in Canada into my American bank account. The check is in US dollars so no currency exchange is necessary. Most of the time the checks go through without any problems. But the first month and now again this month Chase reversed one of them and is now saying it will be 5-6 WEEKS until I can get the money. They are claiming this is because I deposited the two checks too close together. They initially told me that an individual check can't be over $5000 and that the two checks would have to be deposited at least a day apart. Well, I deposited the second check two days after I deposited the first one, and NOW they are saying they needed to be deposited FIVE days apart! What the heck! So, my question is, do I have any legal rights here? They keep changing their story on me and now I'm going to be losing the interest I could be accruing on $4600 for the next 5-6 weeks. Anyone have any advice?

Contact your state's Dept. of Banking and tell them what's going on. They should be able to tell you if your bank is violating any laws and, if they are, then the Dept. will investigate on your behalf.
