    Removing Glued-on Carpeting
We're trying to remove carpeting that has been glued to the floor. One of us pulls on a piece of carpet while he other uses an ice scraper to cut the glue that sticks to the carpeting.
Is there a more efficient way to do this sticky job?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks, we tried a similar tool today to no avail.
The flooring store that will be installing the linoleum just said it is always a bear to remove glued on carpeting and to pull it up by narrow strips. This is going to take forever!
    Thanks again for your suggestion.

Here is the Dremel video describing the process of removing glued down carpet.

    Removing Glued Down Carpet

The Fein Multimaster doesn't vibrate as musch as the dremel does. I own the former and played with a live demo of the later at Home Depot.

Hi I am planning on carpeting my basement which has 4 ABS pipes sticking out of the floor from the roughed-in plumbing. I would like to cut these off level with the floor so that I can carpet over it, but can't seem to find a product that I can insert in the pipe to seal it off. (I'd rather...

Removing urethane glued wood floor [ 2 Answers ]

I put down a solid wood (3/8) maple floor about a year ago (after hurricane Katrina). In the same room that the floors were installed, we later found that we had an unrepaired fireplace that allowed water to get under the wood floor, causing speed bumps in the room. We are now in the process of...
