    Tile a bar step
I want to remove carpet and tile my basement bar area. The bar is crescent shaped and has a step or foot rest on the outside where the bar stools are. I don't know how to go about laying tile on this large curve.

Depending on the size of the tile you will need to cut strips of the tile you picked to make the radius. The radius determines how small or large the strips are. The top of the tile step will have to be cut and shaped. A 4" diamond wheel on a grinder will shape the tile on the step.

Cut the with of a tile and get it to comfortable fit the radius. Dry fit it.

Now that's the width of tile you will be using for layout.

Now find center of radius edge so its equal distance in both directions to where it get straight.

Use the cut tile as a spacer and lay it out with either the establish center line of radius to center of cut tile or shift it to the edge of tile.

Chase out the layout on one side from center of radius to where it gets completely straight.

Chase layout from that opposite direction of reg full tile and see how big or small that last tile will be to start the radios.
Use a pencil to dry fit and mark every so many tiles on the radius layout to keep correct spacing on curve to straight.

You want half of the curve to mirrors itself on both ends of the radius.

If the step top is going to be tile continue the outside center radius to where the inside radius meets the bar edge or its smaller center in the curve.
