    Gas Fireplace fan not working?
I have a gas fireplace with a dimmer switch on the wall that controls the fan. The wife went to use it the other day and said when she went to adjust the fan a spark came out of the switch. I look it over and found the switch and somehow got loose and shorted to the side of the box. However it did not trip the breaker in the electrical panel. Now the fan does not work is there some sort of fuse or reset overload. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I checked the dimmer switch and it is OK.

Check your breakers again. Physically turn them off and back on. Sometimes it isn't always evident when a breaker trips. Check for voltage at the switch. It's unlikely you did any damage to the fan, but the breaker or perhaps (slim) you burned through a wire.

How did you check the dimmer, did you find poiwer reaching it and also leaving the switch? This type of short would not damage the blower motor but there could be a coincidence so send power to the blower directly via an extension cord. If you open the space below the fire place most blowers are actually plugged into a duplex outlet in the cavity. Unplug at the duplex and plug into an extnsion cord, any blowing yet?
