    Purchasing a new mini laptop
    I think I'm just going to scape my desk top. Does anyone know anything about the new mini laptops? Are they good and what brands are proving to be good?

    I've investigated both the Dell and the Acer mini netbooks. My recommendations is ACER, however do not buy into the 49.99 special unless you plan to sign up for $60 per month to obtain At&T network services. You can get the Acer with 160gb and XP on it so that you can use programs on it. You can get one at Walmart and because it's over $250 they will allow you to pay it off in one year interest free. Same goes for Radio Shack. Right now the price is $349 for this mini but now and then you can find it for $299. I'd also recommend getting a one or two year service plan (not that expensive) and for each year you have it, you can get another battery for free under the service plan. Radio Shack offers this and I don't know about Walmart. You'll have to ask.
