A capital Expenditure is where you purchase equipment such as a vehicle, computers, furniture etc. and for buildings, building improvements, etc... that is material in nature, and where you capitalize and spread out your costs over the service life of the asset. A revenue expenditure is for expenses that are inmaterial such as tools, trash cans that you immediately expense your costs.
