Hi All

Ever since I started having periods, I have been regular as clockwork (I follow mum like this :))
22/3/09 was the start of my last period. I was due 18/4/09... 12 days later, and I still haven't come on! Since the start of the month, I've been unbelievably tired and dizzy - at one point I was going to go to the docs as I thought I had vertigo! Then my period was late... combine that with slight achy cramps in my tummy and now all-day nausea, you could say I think I am pregnant!!

Day 5 late - negative test result
Day 9 late - negative test result
Day 12 late - negative test result

I had a blood test done today and waiting on results, but I spoke to Mum (she's had 5 kids) and in all of her pregnancies, she didn't get a positive at all until 12-14 weeks gone!

I have never ever missed a period, am a healthy weight/BP and am not under any undue stress. Can anyone shed some light?? Xxx :confused::confused::confused:

Some women don't get a positive result for several weeks. You'll have to see what your blood test results are. Do you know which sort it was? Qualitative will give you a positive or negative result... quantitative will give an actual hcg level.

If the blood test is negative or shows no pregnancy, see what happens when your next period is due. If it still doesn't show, see your gp again about a qualitative test. Sometimes a period is just skipped, but two should be looked into. Obviously, if you feel you are definitely having pregnancy symptoms, try another pregnancy test in maybe another week or so.

I'm not sure which one, they were testing me for all sorts because it's a new GP and they are looking into my family history.

My next period is due 16th May, so all I can do is wait really!

Just propping up doula's advice. She's always dead on right.

Right now... its nothing but a waiting "game"... some women take longer to hit threshold levels for tests (depending on the test)... and many "pregnancy symptoms" are presumptive symptoms that can occur without pregnancy.

Show me a med student who doesn't self diagnose themselves with some disease every other week and ill show you a student who isn't going to class.

Time and testing is all you have to count on for the real truth.
