Why would the drain below the washer leak after being snaked
Water leaks from the overflow drain (below the washer). My laundry facilities are on the second story of my home. The drain below the washer has been snaked, the drain to where the washer drains into snaked, and the shower in the next room, which connects, snaked as well. The outside vent has been snaked from top down, and middle up.
Plumbers are suggesting a heavy duty power water flush, with no guarantees. My friend is suggesting cutting a section of the pipe open, and snaking close to the Y, feeling that is where the clog is. We are very open to any more suggestions any one else may have. This has been going on for over a month now, and the ceiling below the washer/dryer does have damage.

Tell me more about this overflow drain that's below the washer. Are we talking about a floor drain?

Sounds like the plumbers have run out of ideas and threw this in as a "Hail Mary" solution. Your lines have been snaked. This can only cost you needless money.
The drain below the washer has been snaked, the drain to where the washer drains into snaked,
Your descriptions are confusing. Do you have a washer stand pipe with a floor drain under it? You use the word ":drain". Drain to me indicate a utility sink drain or a floor drain. How about describing exactly what you have using different terms. In other words, dumb it down for me. Cheers, Tom
