    Fan hummmmm
Just purchased & installed 48" hampton bay ceiling mount fan. Motor makes annoying hum when on high and decreases slightly with eacrh reduction of speed. Ceiling mount came with rubber absorber to ceiling box. Fan blades are all secure. I forgot to connect fan ground wire to house ground wire, could this be the problem?:(

While I doubt the ground wire is the source of the noise you should connect it proeprly and make sure it doesn't touch any part of the canopy. If the noise continues you should return the fan, don't need to repair new stuff. Its not your job to fix defective products.

Make sure you installed everything, including the paper spacers between blade brackets and motor. Make sure everything is tight.

What type of wall control are you using?
