    Where's the leak coming from?
My ceiling in my dining area leaks - from time to time. Lately, when we take a shower, the ceiling will begin leaking and will dump close to 3-4 cups of water. Over the years (approx. 5) it has gotten worse. It started leaking at a rate of maybe once or twice a year to once or twice a week. But I am not sure where the leak begins. I have looked everywhere around our tub casing and I cannot find it. I see where there is a crack, but water does not get to that area. The tub/shower is not tiled. It mainly leaks in one area in the ceiling but there is another along the same "line" but the second one does not always leak. How do I begin correcting this problem? What is the cost range to get this corrected?

    Hi Nicole

Do u get a leak when u take a bath?

Fill tub with about 1'' of water and then drain.

If the water leaks, then the problem is in the drain pipe.

U will have to remove ceiling in dining area to gain access to the waste line.

If u can not see where pipe is leaking, u will have to run water.

Please be careful with ceiling as the water weakens sheetrock and could fall down.

Lets us know what u find.

    Good luck

Your leak can be the tub, the mixing valve or the drain. You need to test each separately so if you do fill the tub get the water from another source. If no leak then turn on the supply valve but direct the water into a bucket. Let us know how this is going.
