    Changing child's last name.
How do I change my sons last name to my last name? He has his fathers last name but his father is not on his birth certificate, he dose not pay child support and he is not in my sons life. Is there any fees'? Do I have to have his fathers consent? Do I need a lawyer?

You do need the father's consent and there might be some minor court fees ($35 in MA last I checked). If the father does not consent, you may need a lawyer to force the change, yes.
