    New Floor Lamp
    Hi,

I just bought a new floor lamp. On the box it says requires three 100 watt maxium standard type A bulbs. My question is it safe to use energy smart energy saving light blubs instead of standard bulbs since the box says nothing about energy saving blubs? I would guess it is safe to use energy saving blubs. Am I right or wrong about this?

Thanks for your time and help.

It is perfectly safe as long as there is not a built in dimmer.

If your lamp does have a dimmer you can buy CFL bulbs designed to be dimmed. A bit more expense and read the package carefully to be sure you got dimmable bulbs.
