    Water pump on 1997 Grand Prix
    In order to get the pump off, do you have to remove the power steering pump?

    On most FWD American cars, you need to remove the serpentine belt from the power steering pump, alternator, tensioner pulley, air conditioner, and water pump. Power steering pumps normally don't need to be removed. Access, however, is often improved by removing the coolant reservoir (degasser) and pulling aside the power steering reservoir. Not sure if this helps or not.
