    Would you recommend IE8?
Curious to try it. But have heard from one website to avoid at all costs. I run Vista home professional, So I don't think that would be a problem. Has anybody tried it?

Yes, it's OK, but I still use Firefox as my primary browser.

    No I would not.
It is slow, buggy, unresponsive and over-all performance is bad.

I would recommend one of these browsers:
Firefox because its fast and stable and decent + addons & themes
Chrome because its fast and stable + themes
Opera because its fast and stable

IE 9 would be the choice. Running outdated software is a sure way to be compromised. Chrome and Firefox are excellent
