    Hot tub Wiring
I have a hot tub that is wired to 220. When I use both pumps the red wire gets really hot and melts the cap. Does anyone know why this is happening? Did I miswire or bad ground??

    Does it run right?

    What size is the circuit?
What size is the circuit wiring?
    What sizes is the receptacle?
    Who wired it?
    What does the tub draw?

Simply saying "220" is completely meaningless in the scope of things.

It seems to run fine. I don't know who wired it was like that when I moved in. Noticed it when I had to repair the pump. It has a 50 amp breaker at the main box and a 50 amp gfi outside. As far as what it draws I don't know.

I am not sure what you are looking to do, but considering your last reply I think it is in your best interest to have someone qualified look at this unit.
