    A job description tells you what you do in the course of carrying out your job or the duties you perform. A job function is its purpose. EX if you are a greeter at Walmart your job description might include things like standing at the entrance. Assisting customers with carts or questions etc. The function would be to make customers feel welcome and like they would like to come back to this store again.

    Job desciption = what you are responsible for day to day whilst working.

    Job function =what you have to do in your job to make the duties you are responsible for work
