    Facial swelling
    My dog stated to swell around the eye last night. We thought it was an allergic reaction so we fed her Benadryl. Her entire head is now swollen and I am worried about her. She is scratching at her eyes and her ears but other than that she is acting normal. I don't have money for the vet right now. What can I do?

    Benadryl stops itching from allergies, bites and stings so if it has not improved it could be something like mange.

    Some forms of mange only attack areas around the head and eyes. This will need to be treated by your vet.

    Another option is an eye infection, which also can only be treated by medicine obtained from your vet.


    Not giving you a lecture, just a handy tip: I always keep an emergency pet fund where I just keep a little bit of money aside in in case one of my pets gets sick :)
