    Heavy 8 gauge wire
This heavy wire is very unyielding. To join two heavy wires together, some have
Suggested a butt connector. And finally the wire that goes around the screw in the
Pump to use a loop connector. Make sure they are crimp very tight

    Do you agree?

Butt connector? Crimp style? Do you have the correct tool? I would use a big blue wire nut for two #8's.
8's are really not that big. Bigger than #8 I'd use a Polaris Insul-Tap.

and finally the wire that goes around the screw in the
Pump to use a loop connector. Make sure they are crimp very tight
    Huh? What pump? What screw?
Again, if you are going to use a crimp terminal be sure to use the correct tool. The cheap crimpers that crimp the red, blue and yellow terminals are NOT OK to use for #8.
