Dual Status Alien - Refund processing time
    Hi Friends,

I paper filed my taxes as a dual status alien for 2008. The tax forms should have reached the IRS around the 20th of March 2009. It has been a little more than a month, and I am yet to receive my refund. I am also unable to track my refund online on the "wheres my refund" website.

Do dual status returns take a longer time to process?
If the IRS has not received my return, what would I need to do?

    Thanks

The dual-status return is one of several types of "international" tax returns, all of which take somewhat LONGER to process than a normal tax return.

Wait until 1 May 2009 to see if it shows up on the "Where's My Refund" application on the IRS website. If it not there by 1 May 2009, you can then call then IRS and ask about it.
