    If you sign the birth certificate and later find out that you are not the father, do you have to still pay child support

    First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

    The answer to that question depends on other factors. Like how long it was before a negative paternity test was taken. What the relationship with the child was, etc.

    Signing the birth certificate is generally an acknowledgement of paternity. So unless, the bio father comes forward and challenges it, the signer is the assumed legal father and, therefore responsible for support.

    The signer may or may not have a window to challenge paternity. If a challenge is mounted in a timely fashion then support could be ended.
