Approved for H1B but unemployed before it starts
    Hello,

I came to US as a student on F1. I got my Master's and I am working for a company under OPT. I am approved for H1B and it will start in October '09. However, I decided to relocate to another state where my fiancé works at the end of July. I am already looking for jobs but no luck yet. So,

    1. I am on OPT till October '09.
    2. I am approved for H1B which will start in October '09.
    3. I am planning to quit working for my current company in summer.

Will my H1B be still valid or do I need to change visas? What happens if I cannot find a job within 3 months after I am unemployed?

    I really appreciate your advise.

Don't quit the job until you have H-1B status. If you quit the job or being terminated from the job, your OPT status is finished.. you must leave US within 10 days and re-enter as H-1B in October.
