Repiercing ear lobes in a child
My 7 year old daughter just had her earlobes pierced today and one of them is a little too high. I would prefer to have it moved down. The lady at the store told me that I could take out the earring, bring my daughter back to the store and pierce in a different position immediately. Is that a good idea?

Is it noticeably high? If so I believe you should take it off.

Most importantly, does your daughter like the earrings? How did she take the piercing?

Her ear lobes are small but it's probably about 1-2 mm from where I believe it should be. It's closer to the cartilage and not in the middle of the fleshy portion of her earlobe. She does like the earrings and, while she says it hurt getting them pierced, she is willing to go through it again tomorrow if it'll be better that way.

Oo 2 mm is so small- however if she's up to it and your not forcing her to do then I see it being okay ;)

I know. It just looks like a lot on her little earlobe and frankly it just looks close to the cartilage. I'm just not sure if pulling it out and redoing it immediately is a good idea or not.

Don't re-do it immediately- let her ear heal and the hole close up, it won't be long.

You think? Oh, I feel bad. I honestly thought at the time it was a little high but everyone else at the store was saying it's okay. I guess I was just hoping that it'd be okay to redo tomorrow as long as the two holes/tracks didn't overlap. When my husband saw it, he immediately said it's too high and then I just felt awful for my little girl...

Hey it's okay. It's not your fault. Who pierced her ears anyway? You should talk to the manager and get a free second piercing, it was their mistake.

I don't know what your child's ear looks like [some are small some are big] and I think it's best to wait at least 2 week,

Thanks for your help! It was at a Claire's. The lady actually told me as I was paying to keep the statement and, if after looking at it, I decided I wanted it moved to come back and they would do it for free. I really appreciate your help by the way!
