Like, I was on a website earlier and someone posted something about a girl and her friend looking through myspaces and coming across a guy who ended up killing them. Then, the person ended the story with "repost this or else you'll be next; Your parents will be dead at 11:00 tonight." Are these type of things true or should I not be concerned?

It is and could only be true if you believe it. Thoughts you have can come to life. Fear can create turmoil. THESE ARE CHAIN LETTERS. IGNORE THEM. DO NOT Forward THEM AND DO NOT READ THEM. THEY ARE GARBAGE.

They're made by people whom are bored. The people that believe it and pass it on are either really superstitious or stupid.

Don't be either one of them.

They most likely sent it to 1000's of people as a gag, we get trolls on here that make up all sorts of stories every day.

If you are concerned, send a copy of the email ( forward it) to your local police, esp if they have a internet investigation group, if not you can also send a copy to the FBI

Don't listen to it.. don't even read it.
It's a waste of time, and completely untrue.
There are thousands and thousands of different made up stories like this one. The last one I read was about a baby sitter calling up the parents of the kids she was looking after. She asked them (the parents) if they wanted her to move the clown statue, and they told her to get the kids and run because the clown was really a serial killer.
    Isn't it called spam?
It's a massive problem on YouTube, you can get up to 1-2 full pages of comments on spam.

I see garbage like this on the internet all the time. Just small-minded people trying to have fun at someone else's expense. Just ignore them, they are not a threat. Just to be safe, never give any personal information on the internet, you never know who could read it.
