    How to wire a dryer outlite
    My dryer out was a 4 prong and I'm changing it to a 3 prong how do I wire it to work

    Do NOT change the receptacle. Change the cord.
    By changing the receptacle you are creating a code and safety violation.

    Yes! Change the cord. The 4-wire receptacle was installed for a reason.
