    House donated to disabled woman
    As a couple, purchased a home , using my money and ex's credit, before he left me , he donated me the home, registered at clerk of court as donated to me.. many questions now...
    Want to go to hope.org or finance company to reduce payments, on social security. Will the finance company allow this donation? What about taxes? ANY information would be very helpful. Please and thank u

    Well it cannot be a "donation" unless you are a non profit group. They could give you their share of the home, this has to be done though a deed, so did they sign the deed over to you ?

    Thur a notary a very official paper was made then registered, with the clerk of courts. First we did a bond for deed, then realized it would be his house till it was paid off... hope the change was for the better. I was allowing him to claim 16,000 inst rest on his taxes but rethinking it. Can I , on ss, claim this? Thanks for your help
