    Maytag Dryer has gas odor at the vent
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Our dryer is vented into our garage because the only other option is would be a 24 FT run to the back of our home. I am using a short plastic flex to the garage and we keep the overhead open when drying. On 2 occasions this week we had an overwhelming gas odor in our garage. We called our gas utility the first time and he checked our dryer and vent in the garage and did not find a gas leak, he did however mention the carbon monoxide level was too high coming from the dryer vent.

    Could this be a simple venting issue or something more? Also, should I vent my dryer to the back of the house with the 24 ft vent?
