i am 21 yr old. for the past 6 months i have been losing excessive hair and also noticed that i have been growing too many gray hairs. what could be the causes? :confused: i have been trying to hide my grays using hair color and stuff. but no use. i lose excessive hair. :(

i really wanna do something for my problem. :(

Regaine (Europe and Asia) and Rogaine (US and Canada) (generic: Minoxidil) is the only medication that actually counteracts hair loss, though there are many products that claim to do so. These other products really do not work. Minoxidil is available without a prescription in most countries.

Gray hair is genetic. Some people get gray hair very early (I remember a girl in my high school class who went gray when she was 16 or 17). Hair coloring does not affect the root of the hair and will not exacerbate hair loss or graying.

However, there are medical conditions that can cause both of these problems. If present, and if treated, both the gray and the excessive hair loss go away. I suggest you consult your physician to eliminate these possibilities.
