    Tax treaty state tax brand new issue
    Can someone give info about which states allow you to claim India-USA tax treaty as a deduction on state income tax.

    I have claimed for the past 2 years in South Carolina and I looks like IDAHO has this provision. This is Idaho state gov website link. Check q/a 5.

    I want to know whether this provision is for Alabama. I have searched a lot online for this but everyone talks about federal exemption but not state exemption.

    Please help.

    States that do not honor federal treaty benefits are Alabama, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Dakota and Pennsylvania.
