    No Title in Texas
A friend of mine attended an Uncles funeral in Oklahoma and noted an old car in the barn. He asked his Cousin about the car and was told it was bought at an auction years ago. My friend stated that his Dad used to have a car like that and he would like to have it. His Cousin gave him the car, but was not able to locate the title. He stated that the title was probably never transferred or did not have one from the auction to begin with. Can a legal Texas title be obtained for this car? Thanks, Jay

Your friend needs to locate the person whose name is still on the title. The original owner needs to get a replacement title, sign off on it and then your friend can transfer it into his name.

He can find out who the original owner is by completing this form:
