While there are certain times considered to be *safe* an egg can release at any time so using this as a way to prevent pregnancy is extremely risky.
I am 54 yr.old and when I was born the so called *rhythm method* was very popular.
Many of my friends parents used it as well.
    Yes,you can get pregnant anytime.

Okay.. no you cannot! During your menstrual cycle new follicles are not possible to grow and mature inside the endometrium due to hormonic control to FSH that stimulates the enlargement and maturation of follicles, immediately after your menstrual cycle you have no ovums ready to be fertilized, since the maturation was prevented so there is actually nothing ''ready yet'' for the sperm to have affect on . So your clear, but you should also use a condom in the future so as to be not only clear in means of the posibility of pregrancies but also of the posibility of diseases like siphilys and HIV (aids)

This is not entirely correct... while it may not be the most likely time, at least right before a period, it is still possible... even more so with having sex the day after your period ends.

Some women will naturally ovulate early in a cycle, and some will just happen to have an off cycle where they ovulate outside of their norm... this may be even more likely with irregular cycles. Say a woman ovulates on day 10 of her cycle. If she had sex on day 6, pregnancy can be possible since some sperm will survive for a number of days.

There is no 100% safe time, only times that are more or less likely to become pregnant.

I suspect it is for the best reason that you are paranoid, you are one of a smart group who is concerned about an unwanted pregnancy.

Vigilance is good. It's the smart way to go.

Paranoia can deter from your pleasure so be informed and know that 99% effective with condoms and the pill is pretty good.

Unless he has sperm of steel, try to enjoy the experience.

It's possible but not very likely.
Ovulation occurs around the middle of a woman's cycle (specifically, in the middle third): If you have a 28-day cycle, for example, then you'll usually ovulate on the 14th day, counting the first day of your period as the first day of your cycle. If your period lasts seven or eight days, by the time you finish menstruating you're only five or six days away from ovulating. If you consider that sperm can live in the fallopian tube for two or three days, then you have a narrow window in which you could get pregnant if you ovulated a little earlier than normal. If you're not actively trying to get pregnant, it's always safer to use reliable contraception when you have sex, no matter when in it is during your cycle.

The only way to be absolutely 100% sure that you will never get pregnant is by abstaining from sex altogether.

Other than that there is a small chance.

But you seem to be taking all the precautions you can so you are doing all that you can...
