    Identify old sci-fi animated movie
    I do not remember much about it, however I will type what I still have left in my mind:

    The main character is a teenage boy with some kind of crystal orb melted in the palm of one of his hands - can't say what it was used for.
    The whole story was placed in space and some strange planet (one or more; could be Earth, however it was covered with extremely dark... sand (?) - black perhaps... not sure here).
    The only other character I do remember was a bat-like creature... possibly with wings.
    Colored black or nearly black...

    It could be a movie (it was long) but it also could be an episode (or few) taken from some series, cause it was rented from the video store by my cousin who also do not remember much about it...

    For e.g.. In the one you've suggested there is no crystal orb melted into the hand of the main hero.
    Plus: Titan A.D. is not an old production. I am seeking for something that was made before year 2000. Could be even dated for 197X/198X.
