    Fur loss on cat's belly
My 7 year old Bengal male has been licking his belly and hind legs and now has very little fur left on his bell and inside hind legs. He is flea free and indoor cat? Any suggestions?

This is a very common reaction to stress, anxiety, and depression. That would be my first concern.

There are skin conditions other than fleas that could be responsible. If you are confident that it isn't stree, anxiety, or depression, I would recommend a trip to your vet. The epidermis may need to be cultured to see whether there is a parasitic or fungal infection causing this behavior.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Does your cat have long fur? I used to have a cat with long fur and she would always get knots in the fur on her belly so she would comb it with her teeth. Does your cat do the same thing? Maybe he's ripping his fur out when he does this. You should take him to a vet just in case he has a skin infection. That could be why he is licking it.

Yes, it is possible he is under stress. His "sister" has been gone for about 3 weeks. But they are only 2 years old and she was an outdoor cat and he has always been an indoor cat? But I guess it is possible, thanks. (he is a short haired tabby)
*Please I tried to keep her indoors but she LOVED going outside and I wouldn't deprive her of it, so don't judge me ;( We are all sad for our loss.
